Responsibilities

The Radio Frequency (RF) Technician will be responsible for the testing, installation, repair, and maintenance of conventional and trunked two-way radio systems, including both analog and digital radio equipment, mobile and portable radios, and repeaters from manufacturers like Harris and others. An FCC GROL License is required, or must be obtained within 180 days of employment if not already held.

Key responsibilities include:

• Demonstrating a strong knowledge of RF circuitry and propagation, digital and solid-state circuitry

• Troubleshooting RF and A/C circuitry

• Installing telecommunications equipment

• Testing and maintaining two-way radios and associated equipment

• Programming radio equipment with solid applied computer skills

• Continuously learning and ing knowledge of high-tech wireless equipment maintenance

• Reading and interpreting electronic schematics and documentation

• Competence in handling electronic equipment related to job tasks

• Regularly lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing tasks requiring bending, crouching, and walking

• Performing other duties as assigned

• Demonstrating proficiency in electronics soldering (both surface and through-hole)

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a non-temperature controlled environment

• manual lifting up to 50lbs

• standing for 8 hours at one time

• working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
