St. Joseph’s Hospitals Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders is seeking a full time Physical Therapist . The primary role for this unique position will be as a member of the multidisciplinary bleeding and clotting disorders team. The therapist will complete evaluations, treatment and point of care diagnostics for patients and provide extensive education to patients and the community. St. Joseph’s Hospitals Center for Bleeding Clotting Disorders has provided compassionate and comprehensive care for patients with bleeding and clotting disorders since it was designated as a federally funded hemophilia treatment center in 2012.

Physical Therapist Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates patients by gathering data from the patient, the interdisciplinary team, family, and significant other persons and data sources.

  • Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care (inpatient and outpatient) and have specific goals and objectives and treats accordingly.

  • Utilize therapeutic interventions for evaluation and treatment services including Kinesio taping, aquatics, complementary pain management techniques.

  • Evaluate and recommend various types of durable medical equipment including, but not limited to standers, gait trainers, and orthotics.

  • Utilize evaluation tools: Hemophilia Joint Health Score (HJHS), Point of care Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSKUS POC) to treat and provide care appropriate to the population served on caseloads.

  • Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate.

  • Educates patients and families on an individualized approach to general fitness, exercise, safety, and pain management.

  • Ensures complete documentation using an electronic medical record (if required).

  • Develop and disseminate patient/family information, staff development material, and community guidance regarding physical therapy as it relates to patient population and its community.

  • Participates in clinical research trials and in the dissemination of research results through papers and presentations.

Requirements :

  • Required BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • Required PT (Physical Therapy)

  • Or PT (Physical Therapy) Eligible to obtain

  • Or PT (Physical Therapy) Temporary and licensure within 6 months

  • Required Bachelor's Physical Therapy

  • Preferred Master's Physical Therapy

  • Preferred Doctorate's Physical Therapy

  • Preferred 1-year Physical Therapist

  • Preferred Musculoskeletal Ultrasound experience
