The Payroll Support Specialist will assist employees with questions regarding payroll processes and systems. This role involves fielding internal calls from directors, managers, line workers, and others, providing support on payroll inquiries and system navigation. Additionally, the specialist will track call data in an Excel spreadsheet. Inquiries may range from questions about time off and timekeeping to benefits information and policies. This role also includes directing callers to the appropriate department if further assistance is needed.
Responsibilities
Assist employees with payroll process and system inquiries.
Field internal calls from various staff levels regarding payroll questions.
Provide guidance on logging payroll information into systems.
Track call data in an Excel spreadsheet.
Answer questions related to time off, timekeeping systems, and benefits information.
Identify and direct callers to the appropriate department if unable to assist.
Essential Skills
Experience in payroll processing (3-5 years).
Proficiency in data entry and Microsoft Office.
Experience with Workday, SAP, and other integrated systems (e.g., Oracle, Peoplesoft).
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong customer service skills.
Proficiency in Excel.
Experience with ADP and other payroll systems.
Experience working with different companies.
Knowledge of benefits administration and human resources (plus, but not required)
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid environment, starting with 4-5 days on-site until the individual is comfortable, then transitioning to 3 days in-office (Monday, Tuesday, plus one additional day). The standard work hours are from 8/9 am to 5/6 pm, Monday through Friday. The initial team will consist of three people. The dress code is business casual.
