The ro le you’ll contribute:
The Manager - Government Advocacy is responsible for planning, supporting, and implementing Government Relations efforts for AdventHealth. Responsible for developing positive relationships with external and internal stakeholders and understanding key public policy issues in collaboration with all levels of the Hospital system. Adheres to AdventHealth policies and procedures. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

· Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth service standards.
· Responsible for being knowledgeable of health care public policy, regulatory and industry positions as defined by leadership.
· Understands and articulates complicated national, state, and local policy issues to internal and external Leadership audiences. Works with teams to monitor and analyze state legislative policy issues to update internal clients on potential operational or policy changes.
· Tracks all local and state trends in assigned areas which could have an impact on business climate.
· Works closely with internal leaders and various lines of business to identify potential advocacy opportunities to enhance strategic imperatives.
· Actively participates in the planning, preparing, implementing and tracking of the annual Advocacy Plans under the direction of the Director and in partnership with Corporate offices.
· Develops and implements unique advocacy plans and under the supervision of the Director.
· Works with leadership to define and articulate local and state policy issues and partners with internal teams (marketing/community impact/communications) to build proactive strategy around relationship/reputation enhancement with external audiences.
· Leads on building relationships with local jurisdictions (City/County) to build a favorable outlook. Monitors commission meetings as well as Legislative delegation meetings and activities as assigned.
· Regularly communicates progress and new issues affecting state and local advocacy agendas to leadership through written reports and/or presentations. Acts as a liaison between division, local elected officials, and state policymakers.
· Maintains high visibility at government, business, and community events.
· Serves on community/government boards and assumes leadership role as appropriate and in conjunction with the Public Affairs strategy.
Qualifications
T he expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
· Bachelor’s Degree in public health, marketing communications, or related field.
· Understanding of federal, state, and local government processes.
· Experience in consensus building and collaboration.
· Management experience.
· At least ten years of professional experience in government, marketing/public relations
