Nexstar Media Group Livestream News Producer / Fill-In Host in Tampa, Florida
The Livestream News Producer & Fill-In Host is a key member of the TV station's digital team. This role involves producing live video content (news, weather, sports, lifestyle, etc) and assisting in the management of WFLA.com's streaming franchises. Will work with station talent and producers on breaking news, live events and scheduling guests to elevate the quality of our digital content catalog.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Involved in all aspects of stream production for franchises such as WFLA Now, Tracking the Tropics, #HeyJB Live and more
Identify stream opportunities in a fast-paced environment, contribute to the editorial process and support the digital team
Oversee the scheduling of guests to elevate the quality of our streaming franchises
Help host or co-host breaking news and special coverage livestreams, such as election coverage
Develop social media strategies for future streaming success including helping launch new livestream franchises
Edit video in the pre-production and post-production of livestreams, including clipping stream content into VODs for our site, app and social media platforms
Understand the technical operation of the Stream Center and have the ability to troubleshoot and fix when needed
Specialized Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Strong news judgment, journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and expectations
Video editing skills a must
Knowledge of stream software (ie OBS Studio) preferred
On-camera experience a plus
Collaborate with reporters, anchors, photojournalists, producers, promotions, sales, and engineering staff
Proficient and savvy in social media platforms, tools and best practices
Excellent verbal, written, grammar and analytical skills
Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods, including creative ways to inform and engage via written, oral and visual media
Ability to meet quality standards throughout editorial process
Knowledge and skill in web live streaming and YouTube publishing
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, TV/film or equivalent experience may substitute 2+ years' experience in digital publishing, television or radio broadcast/production
Training / Equipment:
- Utilize state-of-the-art streaming, web and television technology, video and graphics
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
- High-stress environment with deadline pressures. Flexible schedule and occasional overtime.
