Citigroup Global Reconciliation Utility – Bank Account Completeness Intermediate Analyst - Hybrid in Tampa, Florida

The Bank Account Completeness Intermediate Analyst is a developing professional role within Global Reconciliation Utility (GRU) who stays abreast of developments within own field which includes data management strategies.

This role will perform ongoing investigations to ensure completeness and accuracy of Citi’s bank account repository. The individual will work closely with many areas of the Firm (Bank Network Management, Finance, Operations groups, Funding units, Technology). The candidate will additionally have external contact with Bank Providers.

The individual deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the sub function/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Annual Citi-Owned Bank Account Attestation : Analyze accounts eligible for Straight Through Processing (STP) and run KPI and ad hoc reporting. Liaise with Citi internal contacts to obtain attestation of Citi-owned Bank Cash Accounts and investigate never attested accounts.

  • Account Reference Architecture Exception Management: Perform ongoing investigations to ensure adequate remediation of exceptions for Citi-owned Bank Cash Accounts. Monitoring status of aged exceptions. Work closely with many areas of the Firm to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

  • Multiple parallel projects: Own and investigate bank accounts assigned for no GL exercise, never attested initiative, control escalation, account unshared and etc.

  • Analyze large disparate data, perform various reporting and UAT testing, communicate across various levels and geographies of the organization, work with senior leadership to define, implement and process sustainable controls.

  • Exercise sound judgement regarding the proper application of accounting principles to reconciliations.

  • Effectively communicate with team members, management and business partners.

  • Address the root causes that persistently lead to operational gaps by challenging both historical and proposed practices.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Skills & Competencies:

The individual should have a demonstrated ability to:

  • Operate with a limited level of direct supervision; can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.

  • Ability to communicate business rationale to internal and external counterparts.

  • Research and analysis skills.

  • Advanced MS Excel skill.

  • Effectively communicate with multiple layers of management.

  • Superior execution skills with a focus on clear, realistic action steps and timelines

  • Strong work ethic, personal initiative and high degree of professionalism with a global mind-set

Knowledge / Experience:

  • Strong working knowledge of Citi’s general ledger and reconciliation platforms

  • Knowledge of Data Management policy requirements.

  • Experience working collaboratively across various areas of the organization.

Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills and a self-starter person

  • Preferred experience in banking operations

$62,620.00 - $87,380.00
