Description

Robert Half is currently recruiting for an experienced Controller to join our client, a leading company in the custom food retail fixture manufacturing industry. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities and managing a team of five staff accountants. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional to contribute to the financial success and strategic growth of a dynamic organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, cash management, general ledger, budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, inventory costing, and more.

  • Manage the month-end financial close process and prepare consolidated financial statements.

  • Oversee cash activities and bank reporting.

  • Supervise inventory costing in a multi-location, standard costing environment.

  • Maintain and reconcile the balance sheet.

  • Monitor key accounting performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Collaborate with the CFO to prepare the annual budget.

  • Manage the company’s commercial insurance needs.

  • Ensure adherence to proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors.

  • Utilize excellent Excel skills to enhance financial reporting and analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting (preferred but not required).

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.

  • 5 to 10 years of accounting experience, with a background in manufacturing.

  • Public accounting experience (preferred but not required).

  • Knowledge of Macola ERP is a plus.
