The Clinical Administrative Coordinator is responsible for working with our Home and Community Based Services managing requests for services from the Health Plans Service / Care Coordinators while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximizing productivity.

This position is full time (40 hours / week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer 4 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM CST from Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responds to incoming provider calls and complete outbound calls to providers

  • Resolves customer service inquiries which could include: entering notification, provide status of an existing notification and determining if notification is required.

  • Manage and take ownership of administrative tasks as assigned

  • Coordinate with care coordination timely to obtain case clarification

  • Completes notification wizard along with ICD 10 and HCPC / CPT coding with strong attention to detail

  • Notifying providers of case determination

  • Constantly meets established productivity, schedule adherence, productivity, and quality standards while maintaining good attendance and accountability

  • Ability to multi - task, this includes ability to understand multiple products and multiple levels of benefits within each product

  • Ability to remain focused and productive each day though tasks may be repetitive

  • Organizing work and develop strategies to adapt to constantly changing workload

  • Utilize job aids and critical thinking skills

  • Punctual / Consistent Attendance is essential

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience

  • Must be 18 years of age OR older

  • 2+ years of customer service experience

  • 1+ years of experience in working with ICD - 9 / 10 and CPT codes

  • Any experience with working within the healthcare industry

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology

  • Experience in working with a PC and Windows applications, with the ability to learn other sometimes complex systems

  • Experience in working with Microsoft Word (creating, editing, saving documents) and Microsoft Excel (creating, editing, saving spreadsheets)

  • Ability to work any of our full time (40 hours / week), 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST from Monday - Friday. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in a clinical, clerical, OR administrative support related role

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Physical and Work Environment:

  • Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands / fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods of close vision looking at a computer monitor

  • Service center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, floor activity

The hourly range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
