Job Summary:

The Clinical Adjunct position is responsible for the supervision and instruction of students in the clinical area. Clinical Adjuncts develop, design and deliver instruction in clinical courses in collaboration with the course coordinator and review and assist with revision as needed for department policies and procedures. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

You Will Be Responsible For:

Demonstrates behaviors at AdventHealth University in harmony with AHU’s “Four Words” of Nurture, Excellence, Spirituality, and Stewardship as well as AdventHealth’s Performance Standards of “Keep Me Safe, Love Me, Make it Easy, and Own It.”

  • Support and enforce the course syllabus in collaboration with the course coordinator

  • Develop, design and deliver instruction in collaboration with the course coordinator

  • Participate in student advising and mentoring, formulate and administer student competencies as needed

  • Engage in the academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship and service

  • Grade examinations and assignments and review evaluations with students

  • Review and assist with revisions and needed for department policies and procedures

  • Identify and recommend to Department Chair appropriate community agency linkages for student learning experiences

  • Continue to develop as faculty member of the college through advanced studies, research and writing

  • May perform waived and/or non-waived Point of Care Testing. If performing non-waived Point of Care Testing, as defined in AHCA rule 59A-7.034, must have approved competency and documented proof (copy of either diploma or transcript, at the highest level of academic achievement) at the time of AdventHealth non-waived Point of Care training.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Must have BSN Degree from a regionally-accredited academic institution at or above the degree level of the course being taught.

  • Professional expertise in the discipline(s) being taught.

  • Ability to work in both a face-to-face and online teaching environment

  • Knowledge of computer based academic delivery systems

  • Ability to work with an ethnical

  • Meet the standards set by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges and Universities.

  • Professional expertise in the discipline(s) being taught.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Professional certification in the discipline(s) being taught
