Aerotek Building Maintenance Technician in Tampa, Florida

Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician (Tampa, FL)

Job Description

Commuting to Commercial Outlet Stores within the area to perform and complete work orders for maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical, masonry, cleaning, welding, drywall, and working with locks. The candidate must be good with communication with customers and technically sound to complete work orders.

Responsibilities

  • Drive 500-2000 miles a week with Milage reimbursement

  • Complete work orders related to painting, plumbing, electrical, masonry, cleaning, welding, drywall, and working with locks.

  • Communicate effectively with customers to ensure satisfaction.

  • Work mainly alone and call for help when needed for specific projects.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of Commercial Electrical experience including troubleshooting light poles, changing breakers, new circuits, soldering, outlets, light switches, and changing water heaters.

  • 5+ years of Residential/Commercial Plumbing experience including drain cleaning and changing toilets, sinks, and faucets.

  • Experience with painting, including touch-ups, hand brushes, and spray guns

  • Experience with drywall hanging/finishing and Level 5 Finish capabilities.

  • Experience with masonry work with brick and stone.

  • Experience with MIG/Stick/Spot welding for gate hinges or fencing on properties.

  • Experience with residential/commercial pad locks or electrical locks.

  • Comfortable driving 500-2000 miles a week using their own vehicle (work van, SUV, or truck).

  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

  • Comfortable using the ADP app for logging hours and documenting work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Possession of necessary hand tools such as Angle Grinder, Tape Measure, Multimeter, Channel Locks, Spare Batteries/Charger, Circular Saw, Drywall Tools, Hammers, Crescent Wrenches, Sander, Impact Driver, Speed Square, Receptacle Tester, Needle Nose, Socket/Ratchet Set, Saws, Reciprocating Saw, Drill/Driver, Levels, Non-contact voltage tester, Lineman Pliers, Oscillating Saw, Battery Power Tools.

  • Recommended PPE includes steel-toe boots, with additional PPE provided such as masks, respirators, harnesses, goggles, and gloves as needed.

Work Environment

The position operates Monday to Friday from 7am to 6pm with a 30-minute lunch break, with optional Saturday work if needed. Expect to work 10-20 hours of overtime each week. The role involves a mix of inside and outside work, reaching 3-8 clients a day, and involves extensive travel. The candidate will communicate with store managers and supervisors, log hours, submit work orders, and review stops using an internal database. Training will be provided during the first week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
