JPMorgan Chase API Technical Writer- Payments - Senior Associate in Tampa, Florida

As a Senior Product Associate in the Payments Domain, you contribute to the team by leveraging your expertise in product development and optimization to make a significant impact, supported by user research and customer feedback to fuel the creation of innovative products and continuously improve existing offerings. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and play a crucial role in shaping the future of our products and ongoing success.

Working with a team of talented payment experts, field partners and software engineers, you will document product offerings to support the merchant integration experience. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and self-motivated individual who delivers developer-centric experiences and possesses the perfect blend of developer-thinking and technical writing skills. The ideal candidate understands modern technology stacks (API / SDK, gateways, automation, microservices, cloud/AWS, etc.), design thinking (client journey, UX / UI, moments of truth), and payments (e/m-commerce, C2B/B2B/P2P, subscription, marketplace).

Job responsibilities

  • Partners with the Product Manager to identify new product opportunities that reflect the needs of our customers and the market through user research and discovery

  • Considers and plans for upstream and downstream implications of new product features on the overall product experience

  • Supports the collection of user research, journey mapping, and market analysis to inform the strategic product roadmap and provide insight on potential product features that provide value to customers

  • Analyzes, tracks, and evaluates product metrics including work to time, cost, and quality targets across the product development life cycle

  • Writes the requirements, epics, and user stories to support product development

  • Work with a group of Technical Writers focused on API payment product documentation

  • Manage revisions to existing API documentation and create new API content

  • Translate complex technical information into simple, accurate, engaging content that adapts to various audience

  • Work closely with Product and Engineering across various teams to gain deep understanding of our products and services

  • Partner with the client journey, product, engineering & marketing teams to enhance the Developer Experience Platform.

  • Support all controls and compliance requirements and ensure that all pre and post launch conditions are met to release documentation on time

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area

  • Proficient knowledge of the product development life cycle

  • Experience in product life cycle activities including discovery and requirements definition

  • Developing knowledge of data analytics and data literacy

  • 6+ years of experience writing complete and complex technical content

  • 2+ years of experience working with OpenAPI Specifications

  • Previous experience with content authoring tools

  • Ability to read and interpret YAML, JSON and Markdown

  • Understand user experience and content optimization principles across channels

  • Superb written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong collaboration skills and experience working in cross-functional teams

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Previous experience with new product launches and/or transformations of mission-critical payment platforms

  • Previous experience in finance or payments

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
