Job Description Summary

You will be a part of a global and matrixed design team, working in new product introduction and existing product sustaining / support and project specific software development. This team is responsible for long-term development programs as well as short-cycle custom design tasks that leverage existing product platforms.

This role requires, in addition to close interacting with internal & external customers, a strong inclusive team player with an outcome focus & willing to work in Agile methodology of execution.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Engage in all aspects of product and project specific software development ranging from requirements analysis, code development and testing.

Work with cross platform engineering teams for development and execution of product enhancements, product upgrades, new product introductions.

Develop Converter control software to suit various domains like Solar, BESS, O&G, Power Systems, Renewable energy, Metals and Marine.

Develop test applications and automated test scripts using generic scripting tools to perform the testing before delivering to the testing team.

Prepare requirement documents, design documents, unit test plans and other documents to meet the quality standards.

Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.

Create and maintain code and engineering process/technical documentation.

Collaborate with Product Managers, Team Leads, and Testers to deliver the product with better first-time yield.

Take up customer issues as a priority and provide timely resolution for the issues to improve the customer satisfaction index.

Qualifications and Experience required

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Controls/ Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation/Power system/Computer Engineering from reputed institutions.

3+ years of experience in controls software development for LV/MV/SFC drives, AC/DC drives control & hydrogen rectifier.

Experience in GE software tools like P80i, HDM, MarkVIe.

Ability to read and fully understand electrical diagrams, BOMs, datasheets, control (flow) diagrams.

Relevant experience with large scale power converters for solar, energy storage or renewable Industry and power system studies.

Develop inverter and plant level models and conduct closed-loop simulations in MATLAB/SIMULINK/PSSE/PSCAD.

Familiarity with standard industrial protocols such as OPC-UA, Modbus, EGD, Profibus & CAN bus, IEC 61850, IEC 104 etc.

Carryout stability, robustness, transient and steady state response analysis of designed control algorithms in open-loop and closed-loop configurations

Conduct extensive Realtime simulations using Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and Software -In-the-Loop (SIL)

Carry out the testing of newly developed control algorithms or modified control algorithms on functional mockups and protypes

Carry out data analysis with inverters’ data coming from various customer sites.

Experience in various countries grid code compliance.

Good knowledge in Induction motor, Synchronous Motor & DC Motors fundamentals, equivalent circuit parameters and its speed control methods. Hands on experience in drive controls adaptation for any of the motors speed controls for Industry application.

Develop front end applications using Microsoft technologies (Visual Basic, Visual C++, C#, .Net).
