Robert Half Support Technician in Tallapoosa, Georgia
Description The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct support to plant floor users, troubleshooting computer systems, diagnosing issues, and ensuring the swift resolution of technical problems to minimize production downtime. As the primary IT contact for the production assembly department, the Line Support Technician will interact directly with end-users and other departments to provide technical support and respond to incidents. You will also support ongoing projects such as technology upgrades and implementations and ensure that key systems are operating efficiently.
Key Responsibilities: Tier 1 Production Support: Provide on-the-ground support for plant floor users, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with Tier 1 production-critical systems and equipment. This includes desktop applications, end-user computing devices, network connections, and associated hardware. Incident Management: Follow documented processes to diagnose issues and return systems to normal operation quickly. Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate Tier 2 or Tier 3 support teams as needed. User Interaction: Work closely with plant floor clients and end-users to understand production processes, identify issues, and deliver solutions. Ensure that end-user requests and concerns are addressed efficiently and accurately. Systems Monitoring: Review and respond to alerts and issues reported by monitoring systems to ensure the stability and reliability of critical systems. Hardware and Software Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to printers, scan guns, desktop PCs, laptops, and handheld devices. Project Support: Assist with IT-related projects, including technology upgrades and the implementation of new systems for production and ancillary departments. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for support processes, troubleshooting steps, and system configurations. Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on short notice as required for support, training, or other business needs. Requirements 1-3 years of experience in a Level 1 IT support role, including supporting desktop applications, end-user computing devices, and basic network troubleshooting. Familiarity with supporting Windows 7/10, Active Directory, LAN/Networking. Experience with Microsoft-Office and problem ticketing applications. Basic experience in an AIX/UNIX environment. Prior experience in hardware troubleshooting, including printers, desktop PCs, laptops, and handheld devices. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of IT support processes and procedures. Experience working with monitoring systems for IT infrastructure and identifying system alerts/issues. Familiarity with functional systems like Phoenix Line Control is a plus.
