This is a role for a Quality Engineer in Tallapoosa, GA, at an automotive manufacturing plant. The purpose of this role is to support and troubleshoot die casting and machining to determine if it is a tooling issue or machine related, using 5 Whys and root cause analysis. The position is for 15 months with the potential to extend or be directly hired on. The ideal start is in early January to be ready to support during peak volume.
Responsibilities
Support and troubleshoot die casting and machining processes.
Determine if issues are tooling-related or machine-related using 5 Whys and root cause analysis.
Provide guidance and leadership to associates in the quality unit.
Collaborate with the team to maintain high standards of quality engineering.
Work on the manufacturing floor troubleshooting die casting and machines.
Essential Skills
Quality engineering in the automotive industry.

Die casting and machining troubleshooting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering.
2-8 years of experience in quality engineering.
Strong leadership skills.
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with flexibility to start at 7:00 AM if needed. The role is on the manufacturing floor, interacting with 32 CNC machines across two lines. The quality unit consists of approximately 25-30 people, including engineers and floor associates. The environment is very fast-paced with high-pressure die casting operations, featuring three 2200lb machines and one 2500lb machine.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.88 - $32.00
