MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A high school diploma or its equivalent and one (1) year of secretarial or clerical work experience.

College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for the required work experience.

Vocational/technical training in the area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for the required work experience.

JOB DUTIES:

Performs related Senior Clerk duties, which includes but is not limited to:

Receives and issues animal movement permits. Accurately updates and maintains the Cervidae, feral swine, garbage feeder and carcass hauler databases. Maintains accurate filling system and computer records. Compiles data and prepares accurate reports as needed or required by the division. Reviews accounting payments and ensures all fees are current before issuing garbage feeder and carcass hauler licenses. Receives, approves and enters feral swine dealer applications. Issues and mails feral swine dealer cards after approval. Maintains sheep, goat and swine accredited herd information and provides updated certificates upon confirmation that annual renewal requirements have been submitted.

Answers telephones, responds to questions, takes messages and transfers calls to bureau program managers and bureau districts, plus helps with cross-coverage, including the visitor/reception desk. Assists with public records requests. Completes annual records retention documentation and reports in the Cervidae, feral swine garbage feeder and carcass hauler databases. Assists program manager.

Effectively cross trains to be a support backup for programs that issue animal movement permits. Updates those databases as appropriate. Receives and maintains a variety of disease traceability documents, scans and files documents, posts changes to records, transmit correspondence, and transcribe formats.

Performs other related duties as required, including but not limited to assistance to other areas of the division as needed, orders office supplies and distributes mail, provides support to the Emergency Support Function (ESF)-17 operations as required during emergency situations and may serve as ESF-17 team member.
