We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, forward-thinking individual to serve as a key member within the Office of Communications of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

They range from the safety of food service to the integrity of real estate transactions, the standards of racing to the transparency of condominium governance, and of course, the qualifications of licensure that ensure work requiring a skilled professional is performed safely and sufficiently. The Work You Will Do:

This is a highly responsible, professional position that provides support to the Office of Communications under the direction of the Deputy Communications Director. Duties include, but may not be limited to:

  • Researches and prepares written material for internal and external distribution.

  • Assists in the preparation of digital media content.

  • Plans and produces photographs and slides.

  • Responds to complaints, inquiries, information requests and other correspondence.

  • Researches newspaper articles and/or radio and television news and public affairs broadcasts for information of interest to the agency.

  • Takes photographs of a variety of subjects.

  • Develops positive prints and slides and prepares and makes enlargements.

  • Performs related work as required.

  • Ability to speak and write Spanish a plus, though not required.

    Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study is preferred. One year of professional experience in communications, or a closely related field, may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.
