The Work You Will Do:

OPS GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS CONSULTANT II –(Contract Management Assistant) - 37970931

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and well-organized individual to provide invoicing, contract and budget tracking support for the Division of Recreation and Parks. Meticulous attention to detail is a must for this candidate. This is an in-person position that will schedule up to 40 hours per week.

Florida State Parks span the entire state with 175 state parks and trails, the only state park system in the United States to be recognized four times with the gold medal award. Projects include natural community or hydrologic restoration, imperiled species monitoring, invasive species control, prescribed fire, and cultural resource protection.

    Pay:

    $21.00 to $25.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

    Your Specific Responsibilities:

    This position assists in:

  • Receiving, documenting, and processing invoices

  • Tracking and researching payments

  • Organizing and tracking status updates for projects

  • Documenting and tracking procurement, project costs, and accomplishments

    Other duties include:

  • Quality control/review of project documents

  • Review of documentation to ensure compliance with laws, rules, and statutes

  • Performs other related duties as required

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge of:

  • General accounting practices.

  • Office and administration procedures.

  • Financial data collection.

  • Contract use, invoicing and administration processes.

  • Ability to perform basic bookkeeping, and simple statistics using Excel.

  • Knowledge and use of information gathering

  • Project tracking principles and practice

  • Office procedures and practice; data collection; personal computers

    Skilled in:

  • Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Share Point, E-Mail, Adobe Acrobat, and online databases

  • Time management, organization, and process management

    Ability to:

  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously and quickly adapt to change

  • Collect, organize, evaluate and analyze data; perform filing

  • Follow directions

  • Take the lead on assignments and responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Work well with others and individually; maintain a positive, can-do attitude

  • Produce timely and effective results; provide quality solutions; apply problem solving techniques

  • Organize and coordinate work assignments

Other Job-Related Requirements for this Position:

  • Valid Driver License

  • Advanced level use of Excel

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum 1-year professional experience working with contracts, invoicing or purchasing.

  • Bookkeeping, accounting, and invoicing experience

  • Knowledge and experience with MyFloridaMarketplace

  • Florida Certified Contract Manager preferred

  • Experience with SmartSheet
