Work you'll do
The Hazard Mitigation Grant Manager will lead a team of specialists working with Case Managers to develop comprehensive applications efficiently, ensuring they meet the specific requirements of the Swift Current program. This role involves overseeing the recommendation of appropriate program placement for applications (HMGP or Swift Current) and ensuring accurate input into relevant systems. The Hazard Mitigation Grant Manager will also be responsible for recommending the combination of individual applications into larger applications for Agency approval, ensuring the development and submission of complete residential mitigation applications for eligible applicants, and coordinating with the PMO to communicate with programmatic, technical, and environmental reviewers. Additionally, the Hazard Mitigation Grant Manager will ensure on-site requirements are met as needed to guarantee successful application development and submission. An in-depth understanding of the Swift Current program is crucial, as the Hazard Mitigation Grant Manager will guide the team in leveraging Swift Current funding effectively to mitigate flood risks. The Supervisor will strategize on how to maximize the use of Swift Current resources, ensuring compliance with all program guidelines and optimizing the impact of the funding. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the Flood Mitigation Assistance Swift Current program, and excellent coordination and communication skills.

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree required.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance for this role.
Must be local to Tallahassee, FL and able to come onsite in Tallahassee, FL.
5+ year of professional experience.
2+ years of experience in the following:
Hazard Mitigation Planning
Supporting FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Grant Program or Flood Mitigation Assistance Swift Current program.
Advising federal, state, or local government stakeholders on strategies to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.
Grants management experience at the state, local and/or federal level supporting disaster recovery programs.
Preferred:
1+ year of emergency management experience.
1+ year of experience with environmental review processes and technical requirements for mitigation projects
