As a Government Operations Consultant III, you will play a critical role in maintaining Refugee Services databases, analyzing data, and developing key documents related to the Refugee Services program.

This position is located at the DCF headquarters in Tallahassee in the Office of Information Technology Services (OITS). The position is full-time,in-person.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Manage and maintain refugee programs data and assist with the preparing standard and ad hoc reports.

  • Evaluate requests for new data elements and system functionality.

  • Provide technical assistance to the DCF program offices, service provider agencies and county governments through workshops, training meetings and on-site visits.

  • Manage and maintain the infrastructure of the Refugee Services information systems.

  • Apply system changes according to established change management processes.

  • Develop and maintain databases to ensure data integrity.

  • Design, code, test, and execute programs for the Refugee Services information systems.

  • Communicates progress, obstacles, and accomplishments to leadership.

  • Identify opportunities for improving quality and efficiency of services.

  • Perform other duties as required.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).

  • Proficiency in computer programming languages and software.

  • Ability to design programs and systems logic.

  • Skilled in preparing written reports, including statistical data.

  • Ability to process information logically, analyze, and interpret data.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Strong planning, organizational, and coordination skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field.

  • 3+ years of database management experience.

  • Proficiency in SQL, Oracle tools (including database and Application Express), and Microsoft Access.

  • Strong analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with grant compliance requirements.

  • Intermediate to advanced level of experience with SQL.
