Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a responsible professional position located within the Bureau of Preparedness and Response. This position will plan, design, conduct and/or evaluate preparedness exercises. The incumbent’s roles include development, delivery, and evaluation of preparedness trainings. Position responsibilities are updated annually through performance expectations.

Integrated Preparedness Planning Workshop - The incumbent is responsible for contributing to the development of the Department’s Integrated Preparedness Plan (IPP) by deliverable dates. This responsibility also includes serving as a Point-of-Contact, by providing technical assistance to county health departments for development of their individual IPP and participating in the Regional IPPW’s.

Training - The incumbent is responsible to design, develop, deliver and/or support training necessary to meet preparedness objectives. This responsibility includes maintaining competency in adult learning techniques, developing curriculum using appropriate design methodologies, receiving approval through established Bureau approval process, and evaluating training effectiveness against learning objectives.

Exercise Review, Design & Delivery - The incumbent is responsible to lead, design, develop, implement and/or evaluate exercises and coordinate with partners, to test plans and capabilities in accordance with established Bureau procedures and in conjunction with federal grant requirements. This responsibility includes maintaining competency with Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) principles and practices and includes being an active participant in the Training and Exercise Tier review process FDOH & Bureau Representation - The incumbent is responsible to represent the department and bureau at local, state and national meetings, workshops or conferences, where attendance is essential to meeting department or Training and Exercise Program objectives. This responsibility includes prior approval of all presentation materials and submission of a trip report upon return.

Meeting Management - The incumbent is responsible to facilitate and/or support meetings necessary to implement trainings or exercises (Table-top, Functional, Full-Scale.) This responsibility includes documenting and communicating meeting objectives, agendas and notes based on established Bureau procedures and timelines.

Emergency Response – The incumbent will serve in an assigned role for Emergency Support Function 8 (Health and Medical) (ESF8). Incumbent is responsible for enrolling in required training and successfully demonstrating competency to serve in the role(s) assigned. During a response, the incumbent may be required to work additional and beyond normal business hours including weekends and holidays, position may be required to deploy to austere disaster locations or work in Special Needs Shelter.
