MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or universityandfour (4) years of professional experience in consumer complaint program work, business administration, customer or public relations, investigations; or administrative work and/or professional regulation, or a field related to the area of responsibility.

A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.

Professional or technical experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Requires possession of a valid Driver’s License.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to travel a minimum of 50% of scheduled hours.

Monthly travel will vary based on activities scheduled.

Must be willing to obtain additional training appropriate to job functions.

Frequent travel required.

NOTES:

Actual hours of work shift will be established by supervisor and based on providing departmental coverage for established business hours.

Some weekend and evening travel required for attendance/presentations at conferences and meetings.

JOB DUTIES:

General: This position is responsible for coordinating and implementing the division’s Women, Infants and Children/Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (WIC/FMNP) by providing outreach and technical assistance to schools around the state, helping convene statewide implementation and evaluation of innovative distribution strategies to increase farmer and farmers’ markets participation in the WIC/FMNP.

Administers the WIC/FMNP. Develops operational and budgetary data for the Annual State Plan. Recruits, promotes and conducts training sessions for participating vendors. Maintains program manuals, records and documentation on contacts, correspondence and reports in a readily accessible format. Monitors program vendors for compliance with program regulations. Conducts surveys to obtain information for program operations and compiles responses and data for use in analyses and reports.

Assists the division with relationship development around FMNP growers, acts as the lead in development of program newsletters, bulletins, flyers and other informational material for distribution to program applicants, participants, local WIC agencies and stakeholders. Maintains a database of the FMNP to include information of program stakeholders.

Conducts outreach for program expansion with a concentration in food desert areas within the state to increase farmer and farmers’ market participation. Provides training to include individual and group training and technical assistance to farmers and WIC local agencies. Responds to phone and email inquiries from the public.

Develops and implements program evaluation tools to collect, analyze and report data for program improvement. Monitors, evaluates and develops best practices, and recommends effective solutions to improve program operations.

Keeps abreast of state and federal laws and regulations affecting the WIC/FMNP. Prepares memos, funding requests, legislative analyses and other correspondence related to WIC/FMNP, and submits to management for review.

Performs other related duties as necessary.
