Starting Salary: $1,964.32 Biweekly. (In accordance with current spending restrictions, an internal promotion into the position wil be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee's current rate, whichever is higher.)

Description: This is a policy development and project management position requiring professional DJJ experience, data analysis, leadership, and system improvement skills. Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in the probation program area, policy development, project management, developing staff reference materials, administrative rules promulgation, designing system improvement tools and facilitating workgroup assignments.

Duties and Responsibilities: Participates in the planning, developing and coordination of statewide programs relative to the Juvenile Justice Probation and Community Corrections Program. Identify strategies to overcome deficiencies and assist with implementation of programs and corrective actions when necessary. Tracks and analyzes data relating to operations and system improvement in the department. Completes legislative budget requests or legislative analysis relating to operations and sysem improvement efforts in the department.

Provides technical assistance to Regional, Circuit, provider staff and stakeholders to include assisting with implementation of new services, mediating problems with providers and stakeholders, facilitating meetings, disseminating information from the Department HQ's Office and coordinating the completion of assignments required by the HQ Office. Assist in the development of statewide policies, model scopes of services, probation website materials and operational desk guides.

Provides analysis and consultation to management regarding the allocation and use of funds. Identifies and recommends resources needed. Tracks budget encumbrances and expenditures and make recommendations for the efficient use and maximum utillity of resources. Participates in the development and delivery of relevant training.

Collects, reviews and analyzes operations data for statewide, regional and circuit staffing trends, recruitment, succession plannng, retention, and internship utilization. Develops and maintains relationships with university programs to promote Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), employment opportunities to criminal justice-related graduates. Develops recruitment tools, surveys, interviews and other instruments to assist regional directors with Juvenile Probation Officer (JPO), recruitment.

Monitors and represents the department on operations and system improvement efforts and programs through site visits, and recommendations for changes or legislative action. Attends in person, virtually or by phone, meetings relating to operations and system improvement efforts directed at Probation and Community Intervention.

Performs responsibilities for the Operations Coordinator to include reviewing time sensitive documents and participating on conference calls and meetings. Participate in provider/stakeholder meetings providing updates on juvenile justice operations and system improvement to providers and staff around the state.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be currently employed by the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position.

Knowledge of Probation and Community Intervention's operational issues, including case management processing.

Strong organizational, computer and communication skills.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to problem solve and make recommendation.

Ability to gather, interpret, and analyze data.

Knowledge of budget and allocation.

Required to comply with Section 215.422 Florida Statutes, Prompt Payment Compliance Law.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Three years experience working with Probation either at the local level or at headquarters.

Experience working with policy development, project management, administrative rule promulgation, designing system improvement tools and/or facilitating workgroup assignments.

A driver license that has a Corrective Lenses Restriction is acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
