MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or universityandtwo (2) years of experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or in planning or designing distributed computer systems;or

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systemsandone (1) year experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or in planning or designing distributed computer systems;or

A master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems;or

Three (3) years of experience as described above and either (1) completion of a 720 classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in an area of data processing (excluding data entry), or (2) 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college course work from an accredited institution which includes four courses in computer science or management information systems.

Experience as described above can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Completion of a one-year program of study from a vocational/technical school in an area of data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute for one year of the required experience.

JOB DUTIES:

User support:

Utilize diagnostic tools and troubleshooting techniques to solve hardware, software, and communication problems. Request and coordinate warranty/repair services on equipment, as needed.

Provide ongoing support of labs, field inspectors and Rhodes/Conner building users. Use telephone and remote desktop tools to troubleshoot problems users encounter such as VPN, Encryption and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) network connectivity issues.

Train and work with managers to submit Change Create User Access Request (CCR) for Database roles, network login scripts, Outlook accounts, etc.

Hardware/Software user workstation support:

Configure workstation and laptops for new, existing, and transferring employees. Includes running profile prior to new employee arriving onsite and ensuring encryption, Virtual Private Network (VPN) and Team Viewer (remote access software) is installed on all laptops.

Configure peripheral devices for primary computer asset. Configure the distributed computer systems with the appropriate hardware, operating system, application software, communication components, and unique software Client installs (e.g., fax server, third party mail, image capture).

Configure and assign cell phones to managers and field inspection staff.

Communication:

Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff utilizing knowledge of basic data processing terminology and procedures. This includes ability to interpret and respond to computer error messages. Perform on-the-job training for distributed systems users on the proper use of hardware/software. If needed, conduct classroom training for applications and multi-function automated office systems.

Hardware/Software inventory:

Maintain hardware inventory in Cherwell. Includes configuring new equipment and assigning to division staff. Maintain software license inventory including information on which asset current installation resides.

Maintain Kofax and Neopost applications and Imaging Centers

  • Daily Monitoring of Kofax modules, batches, and Neopost jobs

  • Configure Kofax and Neopost batch classes.

  • Keep Kofax software license current with latest versions released by Kofax Corporation.

    Imaging Center support:

  • Configure and maintain scanner workstations.

  • Install Kofax Capture client with scanner drivers and Oracle database client and map to designated network folders.

    Enterprise software/application support:

    Work with OATS on enterprise software licenses, installations, and upgrades. (e.g., McAfee antivirus, device encryption, phone setups, Biscom client and network backbone).

    Network administration:

    Layer security for navigation and read/update access via network security groups, per instruction by division managers.

    Conduct annual audit of network folders to include user access (navigation and data), naming conventions and identify obsolete/redundant data for deletion.

    Security administration:

    Function as Division Information Security Officer. Inform and teach division staff about department security standards and industry security best practices. New user education and continuing education of Department Policy and Procedures chapter 8.

    Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of established policies, procedures, and directives necessary to accomplish assignments and responsibilities.

  • Ability to develop project schedules and accurate time estimates for timely completion of project deliverables.

  • Ability to manage and work with diverse groups of people.

  • Ability to relate to customers’ needs and perform duties in a “service oriented” manner, as well as being able to determine the impact of decisions on the user community.

  • Ability to give and receive constructive criticism.

  • Knowledge of enterprise class server equipment.

  • Ability to configure servers and associated equipment.

  • Ability to provide, setup, document and configure existing or new hardware and software solutions.
