ABOUT THE ROLE
This positionwill work with students who are deaf or hard of hearing to provide in-depthpsychological services with the goal of helping students succeed academically,socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. Professionals in this positionare tasked with successfully providing individual and group counseling serviceswhile maintaining documentation of direct services. This position will beresponsible for intervention as it relates to the implementation and evaluationof programs to promote positive learning environments for all students fromdiverse backgrounds, and to ensure equal access to effective educational andpsychological services that promote positive mental health development.

You willutilize your expertise to provide counseling, mentoring, and instructionalservices to help promote wellness by reinforcing strong communication, problemsolving, anger management, self-regulation, and/or social skills. Througha collaborative team approach, you will provide services and supports thatchampion the limitless potential of all individuals. You will have anopportunity to use your professional knowledge to assist students with theability to cope with social or emotional distress in an open, accepting andfriendly environment. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree or higher degree in any area of counseling orsocial work.
Must be eligible to obtain a Provisional Certificate in SchoolCounseling by completing the application process and meeting all requirementsassigned by the Alabama State Department of Education within the first threeyears of employment.
Must exhibit excellent communication skills
