Required Skills:

Embedded Software Engineer Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the design and development of embedded software engineering activities and provide technical leadership and guidance to team members

  2. Analyze, design, develop, and debug firmware for a wide variety of AR devices, including sensing and imaging systems, audio and display, and power management in a RTOS environment

  3. Debug complex, system-level, multi-component issues that typically span across multiple layers in the system, and between systems

  4. Bring up new devices and lead debugging that spans multiple hardware/firmware/software teams

  5. Collaborate in a team environment across multiple, research focused, and engineering disciplines, making the architectural tradeoffs required to rapidly deliver firmware solutions

  6. Support factory firmware issues including device manufacturing and calibration

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering

  2. 6+ years of experience in embedded software development

  3. Experience with design and programming in C or C++ for development, debugging, testing and performance analysis

  4. Experience leading complex features or projects across multiple teams

  5. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills on complex issues involving multiple components in hardware and firmware

  6. Experience with embedded micro-controllers such as ARM Cortex M0/M3/M4 architecture and their boot mechanisms

  7. Experience with peripherals such as USB, SPI, MIPI CSI/DSI, I2C, UART, GPIO etc. and their interrupt priorities

  8. Experience developing, debugging, and shipping software products on large code bases that span platforms and tools.

  9. Demonstrated expertise in developing with modern Real Time Operating Systems

  10. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

  11. Fluent in English and Mandarin both verbal and written

  1. Experience with lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, logic/protocol analyzers for debugging embedded systems at HW level

  2. Experience with wireless or wired communication protocols such as USB, PCIe, Ethernet, Bluetooth and WiFi

  3. Prior full life cycle firmware developement experience to bring a high volume product from design to mass production

  4. Prior experience in supporting large volume electronics manufacturing
