Citigroup Director, Head of Business Execution, Taiwan in Taipei, Taiwan

The Head of Taiwan Business Execution (BE) Taiwan reports to Taiwan Citi Country Officer & Banking Head (CCOBH), and matrix reports to the JANA Head of Business Execution based in Hong Kong. The BE team in Taiwan is responsible for driving strategic and business-critical initiatives and programs, uplifting and streamlining governance, ensuring effective Legal Entity management and controls, supporting Transformation execution, and cultivating a robust risk and control environment among other critical activities.

In this role, you’re expected to:

  • Lead strategic client-focused initiatives on behalf of the CCOBH to enable business growth.

  • Work in partnership with other members of the country leadership team and the CCOBH to identify and lead business initiatives that enable business growth. These will include People and Talent, Client Experience and other strategic initiatives.

  • Ensure strategic programs and initiatives in the country (including Legal Entity programs) are managed in the most effective manner, are reported to the appropriate forums and are successfully delivered.

  • Lead Country and Legal Entity governance model to adhere to local laws and low regulatory requirements as well as adhere to Citi’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework by effectively addressing all risk stripes (Financial and non-Financial risk) across all lines of defense.

  • Promote a culture of proactive controls; ensure issue management best practices are adopted at the country; coordinate event escalation and governance escalation with focus to address potential gaps and issues

  • Facilitate governance audit, contribute to second line of defense review and contribute to regulatory exams / deliverables

  • Prepare and coordinate submissions on behalf of Citi Taiwan.

  • Promote connectivity and best practices sharing across Taiwan franchise and with other country Business Execution teams

  • Drive administrative, operational, reporting and quality improvements through partnership with internal stakeholders

  • Participate and/or coordinate assigned deliverables within the Transformation programs

  • Support Hub Managed Countries (HMC) activities

  • Champion assigned key initiatives on behalf of JANA Cluster and serve as leave cover for fellow members of the JANA Cluster BE team across Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

  • At least 15 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry

  • Well versed in risk management and corporate governance concepts

  • Ability to prioritize, stay execution focused with a positive and winning mindset

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze operational and financial impact of initiatives and drive risk mitigation, while providing effective challenge to the businesses and functions.

  • Strong organizational and program management skills with ability to handle complex deliverables independently.

  • Ability to produce succinct and effective communication and presentation material. Attention to detail. A proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and escalating matters.

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
