We seek candidates with commitments to advancing the field of justice-based Science Education and a proven track record of working directly with teachers or teacher candidates to develop culturally sustaining and asset-based science pedagogies and curricula that incorporate scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem solving. The successful candidate will have knowledge of Science Education methodologies at all levels and will bring their experience working with teachers and/or teacher candidates to advance science pedagogies that empower linguistically, culturally, and racially diverse K-12 students. In addition, candidates committed to reclaiming Indigenous or other non-dominant epistemologies in science and science education are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will collaboratively plan and teach with an interdisciplinary team of faculty in the MiT program to prepare teacher candidates for an English Language Learner endorsement and an additional content area endorsement.
