Actalent Civil Design Engineer in Tacoma, Washington

Job Title: Civil Design Engineer

Job Description

A full-service engineering, land planning, and surveying firm is looking to add a mid-level engineer to their brand-new Tacoma office. The candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience and an EIT license. Proficiency in utilizing Civil 3D and comfort with conceptual design for projects is a must. The ideal candidate will have experience interacting with clients and reviewing agencies, as well as leading up to 3 design engineers, although this is not a requirement. The firm supports a variety of projects including commercial development, single- and multi-family residential, mixed-use complexes, subdivisions, utilities, and light industrial facilities. Experience in supporting land development projects is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Civil 3D for various design projects.

  • Perform conceptual design for projects.

  • Interact with clients and reviewing agencies.

  • Lead up to 3 design engineers (preferred but not required).

  • Support land development projects including commercial, residential, mixed-use, and industrial facilities.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a civil engineer supporting land development projects.

  • EIT license required.

  • Proficient in Civil 3D.

  • Experience in civil design, stormwater management, drainage, site development, and drafting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.

  • PE license is a plus.

  • Experience using Bentley and WWHM is preferred, but not required.

Work Environment

The position requires working in the office 5 days a week. The firm recently opened an office in Tacoma, conveniently located downtown and close to the freeway, with 14 people currently on the team. There is an option to work between the Tacoma office and another office in Gig Harbor. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00
