Latam Data Governance Lead
The Latam Data Governance Lead position is a key role responsible for overseeing and managing data governance initiatives across the Latin America region. The Data Governance Lead will collaborate with various departments, including IT, business analysts, and executive leadership, to define and implement data strategies that support business goals.
The Latam Data Governance Lead is responsible for all aspects of defining and operating the data governance policies supporting the multiple data domains within Data as Asset Management. Will have responsibility for improving the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information assets. The position will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data management and governance, strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, and excellent communication and collaboration skills. This position reports to the Data & Analytics Latam Leader and requires a strategic thinker who can drive change management and governance.

What the day will look like
•Lead and manage data governance initiatives across the Latam region, ensuring alignment with global and regional data governance policies and standards.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business analysts, data engineers, and executive leadership, to define and implement data strategies that support business goals.
•Manage standard business definitions and metadata and documentation for critical data elements as the person accountable for the quality of the data and lineage.
•Document and manage rules and standards.
•Implement Data Governance Roles & Responsibilities towards the definition of Data Owners, Data Stewards and Data Experts, vital functions and responsible to maintaining good and trusted data.
•Define and implement Role Security Levels (RLS) based on (example) agreed functions /departments to access data.
•Create processes and procedures to secure quality standards and methodology to define what is acceptable or not (completeness, standard deviation, etc).
•Define a strategy to Distribute information (democratize data) with compliance and security of the data.
•Execute operational Data Governance activities such as create and maintain Master Data Management (MDM) to ensure (example) a unique client table.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
Preferably but not mandatory, bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field.
Extensive experience in data management and governance roles, including time spent in a leadership position.
Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, policies, and best practices.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., tableau, Power BI) and analytics cloud platforms.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Advanced in English Language, Portuguese and Spanish is a mandatory.
