Boeing Brazil is looking for Senior Aerospace Safety Engineers reporting directly to the Safety and Airworthiness Manager of Boeing Brazil, São José dos Campos.

Our team is actively engaged with airplane programs that currently include 737-10 MAX, 777-9, 777-8 Freighter, and future product development programs. We also work on reviewing, updating, and creating safety processes and the associated training material.

As a Senior AerospaceSafety Engineer , you will be responsible for working cross functionally to ensure airplane level safety analyses are appropriately conducted. Understanding the complex integration of airplane systems, human factors, and airplane integration into the operational environment are required in this role. The Airplane Safety deliverables directly feed airplane compliance and require an extreme attention to detail as well as a healthy engineering curiosity.

Familiarity with ARP-4754, ARP-4761, safety analysis, and hazard assessments will greatly benefit you in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Providing safety design and analysis expertise to program stakeholders and leadership

• Validating and verifying airplane level safety requirements

• Developing certification strategies for systems and airplane level safety issues

• Executing airplane level threat analyses (bird strike, rotor burst, cargo fire, tire and wheel failures, etc.)

• Ensuring adequate redundancy and physical separation of critical systems

• Leading airplane level safety analyses like Runway Excursion or Airplane Common Mode to ensure integration across multiple functional systems

• Utilizing Model Based System Engineering tools to analyze architectures/designs and develop safety deliverables

• Design and update safety processes according to the last industry standards, regulations, best practices, and lessons

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Must have existing rights to work in Brazil

• Must have Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate from an accredited course of study in engineering

• Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA). Applicable to Brazilian, recent engineering graduates within 6 months and foreign engineers when the employer is willing visa sponsor

• Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language

• Able to travel both domestically and internationally

• Experience with safety requirements, system safety analysis such as Risk Assessments, Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Fault-tree Analysis (FTA), Systems Safety Assessment, and system design or system integration

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Familiarity with FAR Part 25.1309, and industry practices like ARP 4761 & 4754

• Familiarity working with FAA

• Experience with certification plan.

• Experience with airplane level threat analyses (bird strike, rotor burst, cargo fire, tire, and wheel failures, etc.)

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil. Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
