Job Title: Project Manager

Job Description

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Wastewater Project Manager. The role involves overseeing and coordinating daily operations of treatment plants, working with a dedicated onsite Lead Operator and site operations team. The Project Manager will maintain a working relationship with clients, monitor processes, perform laboratory tests, and ensure equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of pumps, valves, motors, controls, and other related water and industrial wastewater treatment equipment.

  • Oversee and engage with the maintenance management and asset tracking program.

  • Supervise and assist with repairs or replacement of machinery and equipment as necessary.

  • Monitor process conditions and make recommendations for process adjustments in coordination with Technical staff.

  • Ensure routine maintenance on equipment is conducted.

  • Understand project finances and manage KPIs using available financial tools.

  • Implement contractor/maintenance work permit system for the site.

  • Assist in qualification, tour potential project sites, and facilitate proposal preparation including CRM entries.

  • Meet with client representatives, manage local client relationships, prepare bid documents, and participate in presentations.

  • Ensure Operators and Supervisors utilize Digital systems and maintain accurate operational records.

  • Be aware of relevant RCRA regulations governing wastes and labeling.

  • Knowledge of practices and equipment required in the O&M of industrial and environmental facilities.

  • Conduct and oversee routine laboratory and field tests for process control of plant operations.

  • Ensure training, certifications, and staff development actions are effective.

  • Provide leadership and coaching to supervisors to develop their skills and future capabilities.

  • Work in a matrix organization to provide guidance and coordinate with support functions.

  • Provide direction to staff on all operational issues.

  • Develop H&S site plan and coordinate project-related health and safety actions.

  • Identify, lead, and gain client approvals for change orders.

  • Understand client data needs and ensure delivery through Operations Digital Platforms.

  • Perform special projects assigned by management.

Essential Skills

  • 10+ years of operational experience.

  • 5 years of project management experience.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Applicable health & safety training.

  • Demonstrated capability and experience in the appropriate competency.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Ability to obtain or currently hold any necessary licenses.

  • Ability to travel to support existing sites or new opportunities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Ability to learn and apply other computer programs utilized in O&M projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Wastewater Operator license preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Syracuse, NY

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00
