SUNY Upstate Medical University Sterile Processing Facilitator in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

Leading the facilitation between SPD and OR with point of care use and room turnovers with the sterilization of surgical instrumentation for the specialty

service surgical sets within the department of Sterile Processing. Will coordinate with SPD and OR leaders to ensure all needs are met for any upcoming procedures. Position will report to Sterile Processing Manager, to identify and report instrument and equipment failures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates and 2 years of relevant sterilizing reusable surgical sets experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Nationally accredited central service technician exam AND current certification administered by a nationally accredited central service technician credentialing organization as a registered central service technician, sterile processing and distribution technician, or possession of a substantially equivalent credential OR Evidence of employment as a Central Service Technician in a Healthcare facility for a cumulative period of one year between January 1, 2011 and January 1, 2015. OR Examination and certification as described above within eighteen months of hire

required. Progressive leadership experience required. Excellent communication and de-escalation skills necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years sterile processing or Operating Room experience preferred

Work Days:

Mon-Fri 7:00am-3:30pm, Weekends and holiday rotation as required.
