Nick Corieri with Robert Half has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Real Estate & Property industry, located in Syracuse, New York. As a Staff Accountant, you will be a key part of our team, undertaking a variety of accounting tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the monthly reconciliation of bank statements

• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis

• Review the general ledger for accuracy and make necessary adjustments

• Record and support the analysis of intercompany transactions

• Perform the preparation and analysis of standard and non-standard journal entries

• Monitor and track student housing leases and payments

• Support the calculation and reporting of sales and occupancy taxes

• Prepare and distribute various recurring reporting and other ad-hoc reports

• Provide guidance on accounting questions and issues

• Support other finance department functions including Cash Management, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll

• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role dealing with multiple entities

• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to prepare Journal Entries accurately

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail

• Good organizational and time management abilities

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
