Chris Preble is working with a Syracuse for profit client of his on a Senior Accountant hiring need. This position will have a lot of diversity to it and you won't always be in the weeds of ap and ar either because there's a department that handles that in the accounting group. There's a bit of accounting here and financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the accounting operations of the company. You will ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, prepare financial reports, and provide insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Help prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

General Ledger Management:

• Help maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.

• Help oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.

• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.

• Support management in financial planning and analysis.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

• Develop and implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies.

• Assist with external audits.

Other Duties:

• Coordinate with other departments to support overall business objectives.

• Stay updated with industry trends and accounting best practices.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

  Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.

• Should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
