This position is responsible for sponsorship sales and activation and requires the ability to work seamlessly with internal and external clients to achieve revenue goals. FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary: $60,000 to $75,000/DOE

Location: Syracuse, NY

THE ROLE

The Oncenter, a multi-venue property featuring a convention center, arena, and theaters, is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sponsorship Sales Manager. Under the supervision of the General Manager and Director of Marketing, the successful candidate will plan, direct, and implement sponsorship sales strategies to maximize revenue opportunities, foster profitable long-term relationships with corporate and small business sponsors, and contribute to the overall financial success of our venues. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of establishing and delivering on sales goals and developing strategies that increase profitability and recurring net revenues.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Deliver on established sales goals specific to each facet of The Oncenter, driving profitability and annual recurring net revenues.

  • Execute venue-specific sales plans and programs to ensure the growth and expansion of revenues across all venues.

  • Execute all aspects of the sales process to include outbound communication, networking, responding to inquiries, venue walk-throughs, assessment of client needs, and the generation of estimates to finalize sales.

  • Develop, Negotiate, and execute new sales contracts and oversee activation compliance.

  • Provide on-going support and service to clients.

  • Prepare bi-weekly reports on sales revenue pipeline and projections.

  • Deliver engaging and informative presentations to internal and external stakeholders about sponsorship opportunities specific to The Oncenter and its various venues.

  • Foster a productive, team-oriented relationship with staff, clients, and agencies associated with each venue to ensure sponsor obligations are met.

  • Be available to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the event schedule. Travel as necessary for client meetings and networking events.

  • Always maintain high standards, positive attitude, and professional appearance

  • Assist with other tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

  • Minimum of three (3) years in venue, property, or rights holder sponsorship sales, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.

SKILLS YOU’LL NEED

  • Proven ability to work independently, exercise judgment and initiative with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated success in prospecting, cold calling, maintaining client relations, and salesmanship.

  • Strong ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions.

  • The ideal candidate will be someone that is well connected within the region with unique business relationships in the community, who can “hit the ground running”; will have outstanding communication skills, with a fantastic personality and positive attitude and with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Ability to feel and reach with hands and arms, walking, stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods of time.
