Chris Preble from Robert Half is working on an exciting opportunity for a Purchaser in the Manufacturing industry, located in Syracuse, New York. This role is essential in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment for our manufacturing operations. The Purchaser will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers, aligning purchasing activities with production schedules and maintaining optimal stock levels. There will be lots of growth in this position and good work life balance.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure the best quality, price, and service

• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure cost-effective materials and equipment

• Collaborate with internal teams to understand material requirements and align purchasing activities with production schedules

• Place purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure on-time arrival of materials

• Monitor inventory levels and work with the warehouse team to maintain optimal stock levels

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships

• Resolve issues related to supply, quality, or pricing in a timely manner

• Stay informed about market trends, commodity prices, and new products to optimize purchasing decisions

• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and reduce costs

• Apply knowledge of buying processes and component selection in purchasing decisions

• Provide excellent customer service in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Purchaser role within the Manufacturing industry preferred

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with suppliers and internal teams.
