Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for overseeing the workflow of group of plans assigned; communicating with clients; preparation of 5500 and ERISA reports and conducting compliance testing for plans assigned; maintaining proficiency in regulatory developments.
Essential Duties:
- Collect and edit census data from clients via electronic media
- Prepare year-end asset review and reconciliation on plan's assets
- Perform contribution calculations for clients
- Perform plan specific testing (ADP/ACP; Top Heavy; New Comparability, etc.)
- Determine eligibility and update accounts for employees of client
- Update vesting on daily val platform where applicable
- Prepare and assist client in the filing of yearly tax return for Plan (5500, 5330, etc.)
- Provide client with annual or quarterly valuation report and employee statements
- Provide Distribution Coordinator pertinent information regarding distributions from plan (including loans, hardships, and RMD's)
- Consult with client in regards to plan design (make recommendations for changes, etc.)
- Consult with client on any questions or concerns (daily phone calls, emails, etc.)
- Provide Plan's broker/agent information for regularly scheduled Annual Plan Review meetings
- Provide eResources necessary information in regards to plan amendments and annual employee notices
- Peer review of other Plan Consultant's annual administration reports and testing
- Maintain workflow database at least weekly
Ancillary Duties:
As an integral member of the organization, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the department and the Company in achieving their goals.
Qualifications
Education/
Training:
B.S. Degree in Business or related field, ASPPA designations such as QKA, QPA, or CPC, or commitment to obtain the designation
Competencies:
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills
- Proficient mathematics skills
- Relate to co-workers and customers with respect, providing clear and detailed information
- Display an intermediate level competency with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as personal computer skills
Experience:
Minimum five years of experience in Pension Plan Administration and Retirement Industry
