Falk College seeks a part-time instructor to teach SWK 774 Sec. M700 Proposal Writing and Program Development (3 credits) in the Summer 2024 (5/13/2024-8/23/2024) semester. Course Description: This course prepares students to participate in the planning, development, and funding of social service programs in both private nonprofit and public settings.
Additional Course Description: Emphasis is placed on the development of skills that combine the technical aspects of grant-seeking with the analytical skills of social planning. Technical, political, and methodological factors are explored. Methods of identifying and accessing various sources of financial support are included. Although proposal writing is the major focus, other forms of fundraising are covered briefly. Students are not required to have prior proposal writing or fundraising experience. Although not required, it is recommended that students have field placements or are employed in agencies where they can participate in program development and/or proposal writing activities concurrent with this course. Students must at least have access in some form (e.g., as a volunteer, prior placements) to an agency for those activities.. Class meets: Thursdays, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. EST w/async content (starts 1 week before live sync sessions).
