Syracuse University Part-Time Faculty - Music and Identity in Syracuse, New York
The College of Arts & Sciences at Syracuse University seeks a Part-Time Faculty to teach HOM 493 “Music and Identity” (3 credits) for the Department of Art & Music Histories during the Fall 2024 semester.
This upper elective undergraduate course, which has an enrollment of 30 students, provides a critical study of the intersections of music and various types of identities. Case studies will consider how music and identity are mapped along intersections of class, race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, nation, and more, and how these identities operate within different contexts ranging from communal interactions to commercial marketplaces.
The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per-credit-rate-history within the hiring department. This position is subject to funding availability and enrollment.
