SUNY Upstate Medical University Medical Office Assistant in Syracuse, New York
Job Summary: Duties typically include assisting providers in examination and treatment of patients. Preparation of treatment rooms for examination of patients, interviewing patients, measuring and recording vital signs, and cleaning equipment. May also inventory and order medical supplies and materials and perform routine laboratory tests. Clerical duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records and completing insurance forms or authorizations. Scanning into the medical record and tracking incoming faxed information.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program or one year experience directly related to the medical field; Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Medical Office Assistant training and experience with EPIC electronic medical record preferred. Medical terminology and gynecology knowledge is a plus but not required.
Work Days:
Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
