Reporting to the Dean of the Norton College of Medicine, the Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology & Communication Sciences is the department’s clinical, academic, and administrative leader, providing vision and direction to support exceptional quality, cost-effective and value-based care, excellence in medical education, and impactful research activity. The Chair will provide strategic, innovative, and operational leadership to drive program and service growth and is accountable for clinical and academic performance of all divisions: Comprehensive ENT, Allergy, Pediatric, Craniofacial-Cleft, Hearing/Otology/Neurotology, Head and Neck, Facial Plastics/Reconstructive, Voice/Swallow, and Rhinology-Sinus/Skull Base. The Chair serves as Chair and an Executive Board member of the practice plan partnership (University Otolaryngology of Central New York, LLP).Approachable, enthusiastic, and forward-thinking, the Chair will be:•An Associate or Full Professor in the field of Otolaryngology•American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Certified•Licensed or eligible to be licensed in New York State•Experienced in leading clinical operations and administration.With deep and practical understanding of balancing the complexities and demands of academic medicine in a tertiary institution, the Chair will advance and support research at all career stages, develop and implement clinical programs (including inter-professional and interdisciplinary), deliver sound fiscal management, and champion clinical excellence based on a patient-centered model of care.
