SUNY Syracuse Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) seeks an Assessment Coordinator to support our Student Personnel Services department.

Since 1969, the Syracuse EOC has provided adult learners with "a second educational chance." The Student Personnel Services department ensures students gain the academic, social, and emotional support needed to complete their chosen program. Brief Description of Duties:

The Assessment Coordinator will oversee the administration of TABE and GED testing at our adult education center. This role involves managing the testing center, coordinating with admissions, enrollment, and academic teams, and ensuring testing standards and procedures compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting adult learners in achieving their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Testing Administration:

  • Schedule and facilitate TABE and GED testing sessions.

  • Ensure a secure and conducive testing environment.

  • Administer assessments according to established guidelines and protocols.

Testing Center Management:

  • Maintain testing equipment and resources, ensuring everything is up to date and functioning properly.

  • Oversee the daily operations of the testing center, including staff assignments and logistics.

Coordination with Admissions and Enrollment:

  • Collaborate with the admissions team to ensure smooth onboarding of students.

  • Communicate testing requirements and schedules to prospective students.

  • Track and report testing data to inform enrollment strategies and improve student outcomes.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations regarding testing and assessment.

  • Prepare and submit reports related to testing activities and outcomes.

Student Support:

  • Provide guidance and support to students regarding testing procedures and preparation.

  • Address any issues or concerns related to the testing process.

Professional Development:

  • Stay informed about best practices in assessment and adult education.

  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities.

    Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, assessment, or a related field.

  • 2+ years experience in educational assessment, testing administration, adult education, or related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in relevant technology and software applications.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
