WESCO Technical Services Officer in Sydney, Australia

Wesco Anixter have an outstanding career opportunity for highly motivated team players as a Technical Services Officer. In this role you will report directly to the National Technical Services Manager.

As a Technical Customer Service Representative, you will answer incoming phone calls and troubleshoot customer tech problems with computer software, computer hardware, in addition to AV specific equipment such as HDMI and IP video electronics. You will address and respond to customer inquiries on products and services, including installation, operational functions, troubleshooting, and maintenance. You will provide customers with preventive maintenance and configuration recommendations to improve product usability, performance, and customer satisfaction.

About the Role

Working with a young and dynamic team of technical support and reporting directly to the National Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Service incoming calls to our National Technical Support Line

  • Provide technical expertise for security products, including IP Networks, CCTV, DVRs, Cameras and Wi-Fi solutions for the National business.

  • Solve technical problems and communicating with people over the phone (primarily) and face-to-face

  • Offer remote Technical Support for our customers in-field and internal employees, across all areas of our security products

  • Troubleshoot HW/SW issues, IP network dilemmas and assisting our sales team in supporting our customers.

  • Give pre-sale consultations and post-sales advice on both IP and Analogue technologies

  • Setup systems in-house to simulate and troubleshoot problems in-field

  • Assist in the evaluation process for new security products

  • Support tender bids and provide technical input for quotes

What You'll Bring

  • Previous Call Centre experience is a must

  • Relevant IT qualifications and knowledge

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • An enthusiasm to learn and grow with the business

  • The ability to build relationships with people

  • Industry experience dealing with security products involving IP technologies – would be beneficial but is not essential
