AWS Professional Services helps millions of businesses in 150+ countries transform their operations and applications using the power of AWS. If you're passionate about leading technical programs, delivering complex solutions, and enabling customers to build better products using AWS, you've come to the right place.
We are seeking a hands-on Technical Program Manager with deep software engineering expertise to lead complex technical consulting engagements within AWS Professional Services. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical depth with proven product management capabilities, possessing both the software development background to understand complex architectures and code, and the leadership skills to drive large-scale customer transformation initiatives. You'll work directly with customers to deliver innovative AWS solutions, leveraging your technical expertise and product management skills to ensure successful outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and security.
Key job responsibilities
Work with customers and internal stakeholders to:
Lead complex technical consulting engagements end-to-end, including project planning, risk management, stakeholder management, and delivery of business outcomes while applying AWS best practices and frameworks.
Set a vision for the product and delivery, making data-driven decisions to balance customer requirements, technical feasibility, and project timelines while managing multiple stakeholder expectations across customer organizations.
Maintain technical credibility through architecture reviews and technical oversight, ensuring solutions align with AWS best practices and customer needs while effectively managing development teams and external partners.
Develop and execute comprehensive product roadmaps and delivery plans including requirements, prioritization, resource allocation, milestone tracking, risk mitigation, and status reporting while ensuring quality and security standards are met.
Enable customers to adopt AWS services through knowledge transfer, training, and implementation of best practices, acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Drive operational excellence through established AWS frameworks (such as Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework), while managing engagement financials and maintaining clear project documentation and communication channels.
Finally - must have an interest and passion around Amazon’s product management and development to drive change that empowers our customers to deliver more effectively. This is a role for someone who wants to bring their product and technical expertise to a space with lots of opportunity for innovation.
A day in the life
As a Technical Program Manager at AWS Professional Services, you'll lead complex technical implementations for our enterprise customers while ensuring solution quality through AWS frameworks like Cloud Adoption Framework, Well-Architected Framework, and Global Delivery Framework. Your day involves managing project timelines and risks, conducting technical deep-dives with development teams, and steering architectural decisions. You'll balance hands-on technical leadership with project management activities - from running daily stand-ups and sprint planning sessions to facilitating solution design workshops and architectural reviews. You'll coach customers on product management best practices and enable their independent use of AWS services. Working across customer technical and business functions, you'll drive stakeholder alignment and coordinate with diverse teams to deliver results. Whether you're reviewing technical specifications, troubleshooting implementation challenges, or leading strategic planning sessions, you're always working backwards from the customer's needs while maintaining AWS quality and security standards throughout the engagement lifecycle.
