About the Role

As an Operations Manager at Elsevier Health, you'll drive global and local operational excellence. You'll optimize cost management and efficiency, overseeing customer service teams, inventory management, and 3PL warehouse relationships. Your focus will ensure every operational note is played to perfection.

Reporting to the Country Director - ANZ, this is a permanent Full-time role based in our Chatswood, Sydney head office, with the possibility of combined home/office-based arrangements to have a flexible work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Enhancing operational activities on a global and local scale

  • Overseeing offshore Customer Service teams, local Inventory management, and relationships with the 3PL warehouse

  • Managing all warehouse activities, coordinate all stock take activities, including preparation, posting, reconciliation, variance analysis, implementation of corrective actions

  • Supporting key customers, suppliers, and associations

  • Collaborate with sales teams to optimize service levels while balancing inventory levels, customer service, and warehouse distribution activities

  • Delivering financial reporting and managing business continuity plans

  • Collaborate with Global Desktop Support teams to ensure system availability for all users, fostering a seamless and efficient operational environment.

  • Oversee office environment management and Occupational Health & Safety compliance

  • Nurturing team growth and development through performance management

  • Inspiring others towards greatness as a prominent member of the ANZ Management Team.

Requirements

  • Possess a background in business, project management, logistics, supply chain or related field

  • Demonstrate extensive experience in operations over a decade.

  • Track record in inventory management (books would be an advantage)

  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, Salesforce administration & IBM iSeries administration.

  • A technical background with strong data management skills would be desirable but not essential.

  • Exhibit exceptional problem-solving skills and high integrity

  • Have experience working with cross-functional teams and multi-national organizations

  • Exceptional customer service, stakeholder management with strong communication skills

  • Highly motivated, highly focused on detail and be able to work independently and within a team

  • Knowledge of the publishing industry (preferred)
