Amazon Web Services, Global Connectivity and Network Availabilty Deployment (GCNA-D) Team has a position open to manage the APAC Technical Infrastructure Program Management Regional team.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

The APAC TIPM Manager will lead a Team of TIPMs in planning where AWS grows, deployment of infrastructure projects and partner with engineering teams to launch AWS services in cities across the world. The manager will perform employee performance reviews, provide team development and make local hiring decisions.

Key job responsibilities

  • Perform day to day management of a team of highly skilled Technical Infrastructure Program Managers (TIPMs).

  • Assist with prioritization and escalation of project outputs across large portfolio of projects.

  • Support and improve scalable processes with a bias on automation and continual improvement.

  • Liaising with multiple AWS teams in resource alignment and planning.

  • Supporting the educational and career development of the TIPM team.

A day in the life

A typical day for the TIPM Manager would start with a projects review session with the team, reviewing this week's risks and issues and assessing how they may impact estimated delivery dates.

Aggregating those data points the following sync session would be held with engineering resources to ensure alignment with current project schedules. Highlighting potential resource constraints or technical blockers.

Finishing out the day, developing a proposal for tool advancement with justification for software engineering time to deliver automation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Team management, performance and motivation.

  • PMI certification or equivalent. Experience and/or Education in Networking, large scale distributed systems.

  • Project Management in a technical leadership.

  • IP networking fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience/Education in Network Builds and DC infrastructure.

  • Background with high availability, very large scale networks and network design and architecture.
