As a Sr Launch Program Manager, you will work with and influence numerous cross-functional stakeholders both inside and outside of Global Engineering Services (GES) with a direct impact to our internal customers in operations. This role calls for an individual who is proficient in continuous improvement and is experienced in strategically developing processes and mechanisms to achieve business goals.

Key job responsibilities

• Work backwards from the customer to scope and define program requirements and critical milestones

• Work autonomously on new or ambiguous initiatives and understand how to create scalable solutions in a rapidly evolving and changing landscape

• Demonstrate a high level of ownership to drive multiple time sensitive actions items simultaneously through multiple business groups

• Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines whilst maintaining a customer focus

• Own an entire site type program and/or will oversee the launch of multiple sites while

driving program level projects

• Optimize cross-team processes that improve team efficacy and delivery

• Take ownership and accountability for programs through high-level decision making that considers risks and future outcomes

• Dive into the details and leverage high judgment and gut instinct

• Develop new programs and create roadmaps, lead multiple high profile meetings to align project requirements and collaborate seamlessly with stakeholders and business groups

A day in the life

• Managing the Road to Launch process, which ultimately allows for a building hand-off that passes operational readiness testing and sets the operations team up for success

• Managing day-to-day relationships with multiple site types under the GES Launch Team

scope

• Coordinating GES and Operations stakeholders to exceed Amazon standards for the launch of new sites or expansions of existing buildings to achieve operational success

• Deep diving existing processes to identify defects or opportunities for process improvements

• Compiling, managing, and reporting on weekly project metrics

• Driving multiple projects to optimize, standardize, and/or improve processes within and outside of launch

This role requires extensive travel, up to 75%

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and/or 2-year Amazon experience

  • 3+ Years of Program or Project Management experience/equivalent experience in previous/current role(s)

  • Experience with planning, performance metrics, process improvement, and lean techniques

  • Experience with leading and coordinating program level initiatives to successful delivery with regional/network impact

  • Experience with business writing and constructive communication to peers and senior leadership teams, with experience in writing and supporting effective business narratives

  • Experience working cross functionally with a diverse group of stakeholders and teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master’s Degree in a related field

  • Experience in working independently and autonomously by taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and an ability to effectively partner with business stakeholders

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation and process implementation/improvement is desired

  • High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications

  • Experience with problem solving skills; can dive deep for root cause resolutions

  • Experience in operating independently and dealing with ambiguity

  • Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills

  • Six Sigma/Lean/PMP Certification
