News Corp Australia Head of Strategic Pricing in Sydney, Australia

What’s the role?

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Strategic Pricing to lead the development and implementation of pricing strategies across our consumer proposition portfolio. This is a key leadership role where you will drive commercial growth and optimize returns on content investment. Reporting to the General Manager, Subscription Data, Platforms, and Growth, you will work cross-functionally to create and align on pricing decisions that drive both consumer demand and business profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Pricing Strategy & Growth Optimisation: Develop and implement a comprehensive pricing strategy across the B2C and B2B consumer revenue portfolio, including subscriptions, newspapers, magazines, and content licensing.

  • Customer Lifetime Value Optimisation: Lead initiatives to enhance customer lifetime value, including dynamic and portfolio-optimized pricing, product bundle pricing, and strategies for subscription acquisition and retention.

  • Thought Leadership: Stay ahead of industry trends and translate audience behavior insights into actionable pricing strategies, ensuring our pricing remains competitive and innovative.

  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Lead a team of pricing and analytical specialists, driving alignment across diverse senior stakeholders and managing complex pricing decisions with broad business impact.

  • Operational Excellence: Oversee pricing governance and auditing requirements, ensuring consistency in pricing decisions, documentation, and automated reporting tools for accurate and timely results.

Who are you?

  • You bring extensive leadership experience in both consumer and commercial sectors, with a proven track record in managing customer value and complex product portfolios.

  • You have a strong background in pricing, revenue management, or commercial ownership, and can translate customer insights into effective pricing strategies.

  • You are skilled in stakeholder management and influencing, with the ability to engage and align diverse teams across commercial, marketing, technology, and operational functions.

  • You are highly analytical, able to transform statistical models into actionable commercial strategies and navigate complex product portfolios to drive results.

  • You possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, work autonomously, and manage competing priorities to achieve business objectives.

  • You are comfortable navigating change, uncertainty, and ambiguity, with a creative problem-solving approach to overcome challenges.

  • You are focused on driving business outcomes by balancing commercial and consumer perspectives, with a clear emphasis on achieving strategic goals.
