Join the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Finance team! We are looking for entrepreneurial, analytical, creative, flexible leaders to help us redefine the IT industry. In this role, you’ll be at the center of driving AWS’s sales strategy, partnering directly with the Australia & New Zealand Public Sector Sales Organization to manage, optimize, and transform the investment portfolio. You’ll collaborate with senior Sales, Business Development, Engineering, and Finance leaders to build financial plans, analyze large-scale investment opportunities, develop new go-to-market strategies, and identify opportunities for business growth. You will play key roles in both running the day-to-day business and helping drive strategic growth for the future.

Our team operates out of our fabulous CBD office (conveniently located near many transportation options), and from home (during COVID-19) leveraging technology.

Key job responsibilities

• Serve as a key finance partner to the Australia and New Zealand Public Sector Sales teams, collaborating across executive leadership to analyze inputs and outputs, assess business performance, and optimize asset allocation.

• Develop and evolve complex financial models that analyze program- and portfolio-level revenue, profit, and ROI impacts.

• Build rhythm of the business processes that deliver ongoing insights and support day-to-day decision making.

• Engage and influence across the AWS Sales, Finance, and Operations hierarchy, collaborating with stakeholders to optimize our customer’s experience, achieve common goals, and monitor risks.

• Monitor compliance with controls and systems, and develop new processes and controls as needed to support internal and external financial reporting requirements.

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

• 3+ years of advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.) experience

• 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

• 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

• 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

• 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

• 6+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience

• 3+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience

• MBA, or CPA

• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, Essbase or Cognos) and providing recommendations based on results of ad hoc analyses to management for strategic decision-making
