Job Title: Sorting Machine Operator
Job Description
As a Sorting Machine Operator, you will oversee and assist with hand sorting, perform record keeping responsibilities, and understand the process for entering stock into inventory. You will train automatic inspection personnel, hand sort personnel, and some material handling staff. Additionally, you will process and propose disposition of inspected and rejected products, maintain low past due work order hours, and keep open orders at less than 30 days backlog. Effective communication with both internal and external individuals is essential.
Responsibilities
Oversee and assist with hand sorting.
Perform all record keeping responsibilities for the assigned area.
Enter stock into inventory accurately.
Train automatic inspection personnel, hand sort personnel, and material handling staff.
Process and propose disposition of inspected and rejected products.
Maintain low past due work order hours and keep open orders at less than 30 days backlog.
Communicate effectively with both internal and external individuals.

Work Environment
This position requires working in a factory environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, oil, and smoke. The facility does not have air conditioning but uses open doors and fans for ventilation. Expect to get grease on your fingers and clothes. The first shift runs from 6am to 2:30pm, with flexibility to start as early as 4am. Overtime may be required, though the current workload is 40 hours a week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sycamore, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
